Elakkumanan Law Chambers welcomes applications from advocates, recent law graduates and law students who wish to work or intern with the chambers in Chennai.
Working with the chambers
The chambers is a litigation and dispute-resolution practice headed by M. B. Elakkumanan, Advocate, with work spanning civil, commercial, property and criminal matters, arbitration and legal documentation.
Associates and junior advocates at the chambers assist in drafting pleadings and written submissions, preparing briefs, conducting legal research, attending court proceedings before various forums in Chennai, and participating in client and matter-related work under the direct guidance of the Principal.
Candidates with a genuine interest in litigation, sound drafting and research skills, and a willingness to appear before courts and tribunals are encouraged to apply. Prior experience in litigation is valued but not essential; commitment and discipline are.
Internships
The chambers offers internships for law students and recent graduates who wish to gain practical exposure to litigation practice. Interns assist with legal research, drafting, case-file preparation, documentation and court visits, as assigned.
Internships are typically full-time and are conducted at the chambers' office in Shenoy Nagar West, Chennai. Duration is ordinarily between four and twelve weeks, and may be discussed at the time of the application.
Interested students should mention their year of study, law college or university, preferred duration, and period of availability when writing in.

A brief covering letter and a current résumé or curriculum vitae should accompany the application. Advocates and graduates may also include writing samples or draft work, if available.
